Speaking to Iranian state television, Ali Akbar Salihi, president of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency, claimed that the decision on enriching 20 percent uranium was sent to the United Nations (UN) nuclear control mechanism and that the International Atomic Energy and Energy Agency (IAEA) reported the matter.
Stating that they will implement the decision made by the assembly regarding the enrichment of 20 percent uranium, Salihi said: “We will implement the decision of the assembly. When and how this decision will be implemented depends on the initiative of the President ”.
Salihi said, “We are the soldiers of this order. And like a soldier, our hands are on guard and we are waiting to shoot. “We are ready to enrich uranium by 20 percent when the president orders it.”

In its statement, the IAEA said: “With a legal arrangement approved by the Iranian parliament, the Atomic Energy Board of Iran informed our institution that it will produce up to 20 percent less enriched uranium.”
After the assassination of Iranian nuclear physicist Muhsin Fahrizade Mahabadi, the Iranian parliament passed the bill for enriching uranium by 20 percent.
