Seven Perseverance was equipped with multiple cameras to record the landing process. Perseverance, the most advanced vehicle ever sent to another planet, successfully landed in Jezero crater last Thursday.
The 3 minute 25 second video shows the parachute opening in Perseverance and finally landing on the Red Planet.
“These are really amazing videos. This is the first time we’ve seen an event like the landing on Mars,” said Michael Watkins, director of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
MICROSCOPIC LIVES WILL CONTINUE
Launched from the United States on July 30, the rover will investigate the past of the Red Planet, which is believed to resemble Earth billions of years ago. Perseverance’s mission is to track down microscopic creatures that once lived, if any, on Mars.
MILLIONS VIEWED THE LAND OF MARS
The results of the Perseverance landing on Mars were watched by millions for the ‘7 minute horror’ process. The process that began with Perseverance’s entry into the atmosphere of Mars at 23.58 TSI resulted in Perseverance turning the wheel into Jezero crater on Mars at 23.55 at exactly the time it was planned. When the hours marked midnight, he posted the first photos Perseverance took of Mars.
