It was announced that in the field of the fight against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19), weekend restrictions will be applied and foreign tourists and employees of various occupational groups will be exempted.

On the first day of the fourth week of the restriction, the Istanbul police teams continued their checks in this context. Taksim police teams examined the passports and permits of those who wanted to enter the street one by one at the application point installed at the entrance of İstiklal Street. When checking whether the restriction was adhered to or not, the police also issued warnings about the mask rule.

JOURNALIST ATTACKED, TRIED TO REMOVE THE CAMERA

Continuing with their checks at the street entrance, the teams saw that one person was smoking despite the restriction. The police called this person and informed him that he would be punished after the passport control. Journalists began recording those moments while the foreign tourist who violated the restriction was fined.

A woman, who was known to be the wife of the condemned man, tried to prevent them by screaming when she saw journalists shoot.

The woman then approached a member of the press and tried to grab the camera in her hand and began beating herself. With the intervention of the police teams, the tourist was separated from the journalist.

The woman, who appeared to be extremely angry, continued to yell at the journalist after her removal. The foreign woman who attacked the journalist and his family left the place after the sentence was drawn up.

They heard neither a mask nor a smoking ban

On the other hand, it was observed that the vast majority of foreign tourists, who were granted exemption from the restriction, ignore the masks and the rules of social distance in and around Taksim Square, and continue to smoke despite all the warnings.
