According to Greek press reports, the Athens administration has installed two new portable devices capable of emitting powerful sound waves in the Evros border area to be used against a possible mass influx of immigrants.
Two long-range active acoustic stimulation (LRAD) systems, which produce sound bombs and have the power to deafen people, were delivered to the Greek Police Service (ELAS) on the Turkish-Greek border.
Used in civilian and military areas around the world, LRAD systems, when used on people, can confuse, become deaf, cause excruciating pain, and cause uncertain health problems.
It was observed that 4 UAVs, 15 thermal cameras, 5 plastic boats and 10 armored patrol vehicles were included in the border surveillance system within the scope of the decision to strengthen border troops.
On the other hand, it was reported that the construction of the new wire wall on the Turkish-Greek border, which was announced to be built in the Meriç region against illegal immigration, started in the Ferecik region.
