Cihat Ercan, a farmer from the Tarsus district of Mersin, rented his agricultural land to Eren Yiğit for 60,000 lire. Although Ercan received the money, he allegedly did not transfer the land.

The police determined that the wounded man who was left in front of a private hospital in the city around 6:00 p.m. the same day died at 11:00 p.m., and that he was Cihat Ercan.
The police detained Eren Yiğit’s older brother, Umut Yiğit, at his home. At the end of the interrogation, it was determined that Cihat Ercan was beaten to death by Eren Yiğit, Umut Yiğit, Zeynel Abidin Altuğ, Edip Erdoğan, Zahir Salman, Serdal Şeker and Murat S. Other suspects were caught in a simultaneous raid on his home on the 25th. of November.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Cihat Ercan was taken from his home, taken to a house with a garden in Adana after being kidnapped, beaten with billiard sticks after his hands and feet were tied and his head was buried in the Water. Eren Yiğit, who allegedly broke 2 billiard sticks on Ercan’s back, said in his testimony that they had no intention of killing, that they were trying to scare them to get the money.
