In a prison in Los Angeles, USA. In the US, 21 prisoners have been announced to have coronaviruses infecting them in hopes of early release. In a video posted by the Los Angeles Police Department on Twitter, the prisoners in turn smell a face mask and drink hot water from the circulating bottle to light the fire.
In the city, where approximately 5,000 prisoners were released early in the past two months, it has been announced that there has been a 60 percent increase in coronavirus cases in jails since May 4. During this time, the coronavirus test of 357 prisoners was positive.
‘ACTIONS IN NORMAL TIMES’
“The prisoners were expected to be placed under the house at the mercy of the judges after the illness,” Los Angeles Police Director Alex Villanueva said April 26 at Pitches Prison of the images recorded by the security cameras in a room of 50 people.
Villanueva said that during normal times, prisoners who do not use their belongings share their bottles and glasses and gather in violation of social distance rules to contract the disease.
Alex Villanueva stated that prisoners who did not want to be sick and prison staff accused of endangering their lives would not be released early.
None of the prisoners accepted the accusation of infecting each other.
Inmates in the city who are about to complete their detention periods are released early.
