Although the number of cases in ISTANBUL was alarming, an assessment of the situation was carried out under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca. Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Provincial Police Chief Zafer Aktaş, Vice Ministers, Provincial Health Directors, Field Coordinators and Chief Medical Officers were invited to the meeting. Notably, the Mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, was not present at the meeting.
The president found out when he tweeted
IMM spokesperson Murat Ongun was on the agenda on social media with his response to the questions ‘why was Ekrem İmamoğlu not present at the meeting’. Murat Ongun, “The president was not invited to the meeting. We don’t know. He found out about the meeting through the participation of Minister Koca.” He said.
CHP reaction: scandal
CHP reacted strongly to the fact that IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu was not invited to the meeting on the pandemic. In the statement made by the CHP, the following was expressed:
