As the fight against the Corona virus epidemic continues, implementation of the standardization schedule announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last week will begin tomorrow. Shopping centers, hairdressers, hair salons, and beauty salons will continue to accept customers from tomorrow morning.
As many companies will be operational again, a huge increase in private vehicles and public transport is expected in Istanbul. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality warned Istanbul residents by recalling that extraordinary restrictions on public transport vehicles continue.
By sharing data from 1,336,000 public transport passes on Friday, May 8, IMM determined that most of the public transport has been in use since March 20, when strict measures were applied and citizens complied with social isolation.
BUILD IF YOU HAVE A BICYCLE
İBB recalled that the epidemic was spreading quickly and easily in public transport vehicles, and noted the following titles, predicting that the use of public transport would increase much more with new releases to be released on Monday May 11:
1- The epidemic is still ongoing, please do not leave the house unless it is mandatory.
2- If possible, prefer to walk or ride a bicycle instead of using public transport.
3- If you have to use public transport, use public transport vehicles before 10.00 in the morning and not before 16.00 in the afternoon.
4- Protect your physical distance with at least 1-2 meters at bus stations and metro stations.
5- It is prohibited to travel in public transport vehicles without a mask. Also, be careful not to touch surfaces, stair railings, handles on public transportation.
6- Please put the masks and gloves you use in the garbage bags. Do not put your hands on your face or wash your hands after using public transportation.
NO STANDARDIZATION BUT NO NEW DECISION IN BULK TRANSPORT
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Health Minister Fahrettin husband stressing that he is shown at the center of the outbreak in Turkey Science Board IMM shared his views on this issue. Claiming that the Board is of the opinion that the freedom to start May 11 is an early opening, IMM emphasized that no new regulations were made on public transportation while standardization measures were being taken.
25 PEOPLE CAN RIDE instead of 100 PEOPLE
The statement indicated that due to current public transportation restrictions, only half the number of seats can be carried on buses and subways, and half of the seated passengers are also transported. This means that a 100-person bus can carry about 25 people, and a 600-person subway can carry 300 people.
Noting that some of the passenger wait times may increase at stops on Monday, IMM patiently asked everyone to wait until a new, empty vehicle arrives.
Although it will work with a hundred percent capacity …
In the statement of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the following points were emphasized:
* We would like to point out that all public transport services in Istanbul will operate at 100 percent of capacity on Monday May 11. However, it is obvious that there will be problems due to restrictions on passenger transport. With the new agreement, it was decided that commercial taxis will carry three passengers. This means that Four people, including the driver, can travel in the area of two square meters. However, such a launch has not yet started on public transportation.
PROTECT YOUR HEALTH BY BEING AT HOME
* This time, some of our valued passengers may experience victimization for reasons we don’t have on public transportation on and after Monday. We would like to point out to our precious people that the danger of epidemics continues and by staying home as much as possible, protect your health.
