Kılıçdaroğlu: If the Ministry of National Education does not do it, our municipalities will.
CHP President Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the National Education Ministry and stated that 754,429 students would not be able to benefit from distance education because they do not have a television at home, at the education press conference held today: ” You should also have a television campaign.
WALL – CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who assessed the problems in education due to the corona virus epidemic, stated that 754,429 students would not be able to benefit from distance education because they have no television at home, and listed his proposals for 14 points to the Ministry of Education. Kılıçdaroğlu demanded that the work of the CHP municipalities on this issue not be blocked.
The highlights of Kılıçdaroğlu’s speech are as follows:
THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM HAS DROPPED: Our educational system has been paralyzed in 18 years. Educational policies have changed from one minister to another. Educational policies were formed according to the point of view of the person. No father and mother are satisfied with the educational system, regardless of their party. The example that fundamentally moved the education system is the 4 + 4 + 4 application. Was this discussed in the National Education councils while the 4 + 4 + 4 system was introduced? No. Was there such an objective in the development plans? No. Was it discussed at the Ministry? No. Was it debated in the Council of Ministers? No. A bill was made, it was signed by 4 AK Party deputies, none of them were educators. 5 people who did not know about education determined the educational policy.
FAMILIES SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO THE PRIVATE SCHOOL: Those who are in good condition send their children to private schools, those who are not in good condition send them to public schools. We are faced with an extraordinary picture of inequality in education. Today there is a pandemic, we have problems with education. We are holding this press conference to express our opinion on this matter. Today, the state has 54,715 schools within the scope of compulsory formal education in public schools. In addition, the number of private schools is 13,870. The total number of classes in the field of compulsory education is 588,10. There are 25.8 students in public schools per classroom. Private schools have 139,337 classrooms, the number of students per class is 10.6. In private schools, families send their children to private schools, as both the number of students and the quality are better. There are 15 million 189 thousand 878 students in public schools. The number in private schools is 1 million 468 thousand 198. The number of teachers in public schools is 942 thousand 935. 101 thousand 730 of them are hired. 174,750 teachers work in private schools.
THERE IS NO TELEVISION IN THE HOME OF 754,429 STUDENTS: 3 million 17 thousand 718 students who are enrolled in public schools in compulsory formal education do not have internet in their homes. I mean the 21st century. Turkey is a very different form of power launched by our people that it knows very well. The numbers don’t lie. In addition, 754,429 students who go to public schools do not have television at home and we do distance education, which we call EBA. How will a student get an education without television? In addition, at least 57,340 new classrooms are needed for adequate education for pandemic conditions. 92,165 new teachers are needed for an education appropriate to the pandemic conditions.
WE PROVIDE OUR SUGGESTIONS: The need for classrooms must be satisfied by providing the Ministry of National Education with the necessary resources. Some village schools should reopen when necessary. If the Ministry of Finance and Finance has a resource problem, the mayors of the CHP are willing to do it in their own regions, as long as space is allocated. Prepare the ISMEK and BELMEK buildings to be assigned to the Ministry of National Education. With the opening of new classrooms, the 92,000 needed teachers must be appointed quickly and without delay. MEB should start the “Have a TV” campaign. If the Ministry of National Education does not start this campaign, the municipalities with CHP will aspire. (NEWS CENTER)
