IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener attended the opening ceremony of the first stage of the Eminönü-Alibeyköy tram line with CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener noted that 386 women were killed in one year and called on the Mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, to make Istanbul a safe city for women.
Akşener used the following statements:
“I will ask you something with the testimony of the two women. 386 women were murdered in this country in one year. The people of Ankara don’t listen to it as much as we want to. President, I want another view from you. It is also livable for all the women living in Istanbul, Turkey, a city that I want them to provide a respite to. When a woman in Istanbul goes home when she leaves her job, I want her to make sure she is not attacked. I don’t want him to go home because the light bulbs on the electric poles go out. I want you to find ways to involve our women in our economy. I want a woman who comes to Istanbul to take a deep breath. ”
