A fire broke out on the fifth floor of the building at the address of the Uluoymak 52nd Street No. 12 district. As flames surrounded the house in a short time, residents of the neighborhood informed the fire department, police and medical teams. Firefighters who came to the address after the warning, intervened in the flames.
Based on the information obtained, it was learned that Yakup Sabri Günay, who was at home with her mother, was alone on the upper floor of the house, and her mother Şermin Günay was unable to save due to heavy smoke. The citizens of other floors of the apartment during the fire were evacuated with the intense work of the police, the guard and the firefighters. Additionally, the guard at the scene rescued the bedridden patient in the building. After 3 hours of hard work by the teams, the fire was extinguished. After the fire, the body of Yakup Sabri Günay, 4 years old, was found.
Yakup Sabri Günay’s lifeless body was removed from the Gediz State Hospital morgue after the examination.
It was known that 2 members of the health personnel were affected by smoke during firefighting activities and were treated for outpatient treatment.
After the fire, Kütahya Governor Ali Çelik and Kütahya Provincial Police Chief Necmettin Koç arrived at the scene of the fire and received information from the authorities.
A study was started to determine the cause of the fire.
