TÜRK-İŞ: THE COUNTRY DOES NOT REFLECT THE FACTS

How is the minimum wage determined?
Starting in December of each year, employers, unions and government representatives begin meetings to determine the minimum wage for the next year.
The parties hold four meetings, one week apart, in December. Although the parties made evaluations in the first two meetings, TurkStat makes its proposal in the third meeting. At the fourth meeting, the government offers a numerical proposal.

NET MINIMUM SALARY 2 THOUSAND 324 LIRA
The minimum wage is still applied as gross 2,943 lira per month for a single worker, and a net of 2,324 kuruş lira 71 when taxes and deductions are reduced. For apartment workers, unlike normal workers, the net 2,501 lira is calculated at 55 kurus as income and stamp taxes are not levied.
The total cost of the minimum wage for the employer is 3,458 lire for a worker. Of this, 2,943 lira is the gross minimum wage, 456 lira 17 kuruş social security premium, 58 lira 86 kuruş employer’s unemployment insurance fund.
