In recounting all the details of the murder in his testimony, construction worker Kemal Ayyıldız claimed that he met Aylin Sözer on a dating site in 2009. Explaining the details of their 10-year relationship, Ayyıldız calmly explained how he committed the murder.
The closest witness to Aylin Sözer’s murder was her brother Nilay Sözer, who lives upstairs. Although Nilay Sözer went to the door of her sister, from whom she could not get any news, repeatedly and forced the door, she could not avoid what happened. Claiming that the person named Kemal came and went to his sister’s house, Nilay Sözer said in his statement that he warned his sister to be careful about this issue:
KEMAL COMES TO REPAIR
* I have lived in the apartment where the incident occurred for 10 years. My sister Aylin moved into the apartment in November. My sister got divorced in 2018, but has lived separately with her husband since 2008. As far as I know, she didn’t have a boyfriend or was dating. He would hesitate to talk to me about their relationship. In mid-November my sister and a man came and asked me for a ladder. When I returned home, I asked him if he was in a relationship with the person and found out that his name was Kemal. He said he was unrelated, he came to help, he would finish the repairs and he would leave. When I went to my sister’s house the next day, Kemal was home again.
KEMAL FROM HOME
* When I met my sister a few weeks later, she told me ‘I lost my credit card’. When I asked him who was going in and out of his house, he said: “Kemal was there. He said I fired Kemal. “I suspect he got the card and left.” I said, “You are suspicious, but did you give the card?” He said he gave it to me once when we went shopping. My sister was trying to close the matter. He was suspicious of her relationship with Kemal. He told me he knocked on his door again and fired. I said be careful. So I didn’t ask about the status of their relationship.
THE VOICES OF THE CATS ARRIVE
* Finally, we had a meeting with my sister around 10:40 p.m. on December 28. On the day of the incident, my sister’s assistant, Serkan, called and said, “Strange and strange messages are coming from Aylin.” I went downstairs with the spare key my sister had given me. I kept calling on the phone. The phone was busy. I couldn’t open the door because the key was inserted from the inside. I heard the door and his two cats jingled.
“I AM SUSPECTED BY THE MESSAGES”
* At 11:31 a message was received saying “I can’t speak now.” Messages came in like “Yesterday I changed the lock on the apartment” and “Dear dear.” He was suspicious of the messages. Because my sister used to call me “My love, my lamb and my beloved.”
“FLAME WAS SPRAYING”
After the correspondence I realized that I have no sister. I pushed the door. I informed the police. When the police arrived, he kicked the door open. I saw a burst of flames from the door and it exploded. The police rolled. No one could open their eyes because of the gas.
“KEMAL HOUSE BEHAVIORED AS CUSTOM”
Aylin’s assistant Serkan Yaman said Aylin Hodja introduced herself to a person named Kemal during the move, but Kemal, who was found to help with the relocation, acted as a member of the household.
Serkan Yaman stated the following in his statement:
* Aylin’s teacher introduced us to a person named Kemal while she was moving house. He said he would do home renovations. However, he acted more like a member of the household than someone involved in home improvement. Two or three weeks ago Aylin Hodja said: “I fired Kemal. “Can you help me change my social media and work passwords no matter what?” At the same time, he asked how he could know that he had lost his credit card at home.
MESSAGE SERKAN OĞLUŞUM
* On the day of the murder, at 10:55 a.m. on WhatsApp, the message “Serkan my son, can I ask you a very important favor”. In the continuation of the message, he asked me to send me money that he was not in a position to speak with a friend who was with him, that the money he would send were dollars and euros and he returned it by courier. He even noticed that it was not understood that there was money in it while the package was being made. I said, “I can’t do anything without talking to you.” Because his speaking style and his prayers were not like the master’s. I called his brother Nihal and explained the situation.
“SISTER OF THE SUSPECT, OUR BEST WAS DEFECTIVE”
Suspect Kemal Ayyıldız’s brother, Murat Delbe, said they stayed in the same house with his brother and had been with each other for a month. My brother’s wife was a janitor in national education. He was appointed to Manisa in May. His wife went there with their 3 children. We stayed in the same house as my brother. He previously worked on the construction of the metro. Now he works at day job. I had a bad relationship with my brother for a month.
Kemal Ayyıldız, on the other hand, stated that he regretted the incident and said: “If I could get out of the house, it would look like a robbery.” Ayyıldız cruelly described the murder as follows without blinking:
* We met in 2009 on the website called k… com. At that time I was single, he was in the United States. I remember getting divorced, I had a controversial troubled marriage. When we met, we had a very happy friendship. Later, our relationship progressed.
“I run away when I tell you that I was married”
* 2 years after his return to Turkey Aylin. As we met, our friendship progressed, we began to have sex. Even though he said he was divorced, when I found out he was married, I walked away from him.
* I locked your phone. Meanwhile, I married a woman named Hülya. Due to the problems I had with my wife and my brother, I became a police station and a suspension order was issued on me. Our love for each other was repeated when Aylin Sözer sent a message in 2014.
* We broke up with him 3-4 times between 2014-2020 without any problem. After my wife’s date in Manisa, Aylin said ‘Come stay with me’ at her home in Sefaköy.
TIME OF DAY OF MURDER: 08.30
* Last week ‘What are we doing? When I said, ‘What about our situation?’, He said ‘come back on Tuesday, I’m free.’ I did not go to his house for 8 days. I went to Aylin at 08:30 on the day of the murder. He had prepared alcoholic drinks and snacks. We started drinking together. When I told him that I was going to Manisa with my wife, he asked me to stay with him.
MUTFAKTAN BIÇAK ALDI
* He started shouting loudly behind me, ‘You are eating and drinking too, your problem is Hülya’. I warned him that others would listen to him. Aylin, who appeared behind me as I was about to open the door and go out, attacked me with a knife. I turned around and tried to hug him, saying ‘What are you doing, are we this?’
* My goal was to calm down. I tried to grasp the knife with my left hand. Even the palm of my hand was cut off with a knife. As she tried to turn Aylin’s right hand to grasp the knife in her hand, the knife she was still holding cut deeply into her neck.
* He kept cursing me. I don’t recall hitting Aylin’s body, swinging it, or hitting the knife I picked up. I didn’t do it consciously. I hugged Aylin and carried him to bed. I tried to tamp down.
“I’m scared, I panicked”
* Then I remember hearing a bell. I am scared. Then he got a call from someone named Aydanur on his phone. I got busy. Then when I called again, I sent the message ‘I’m in the hospital’. I was afraid of being caught, I panicked. I rummaged through the cupboards and bought some rings and necklaces. I already bought him some as a gift.
* To give the image that Aylin is outside, she told her assistant Serkan: ‘I am my sister. He needs it. I sent you a message that said, ‘I’ll send you money and send it to me by courier.’ When Serkan said ‘I’m going out as 3’, I said ‘Okay, I’ll take care of that with my sister.’ I don’t know if Aylin has an older sister. If I could get out of the house, it would look like a robbery. I regret not wanting to fall into such a situation.
* After the murder, the police stated that Kemal Ayyıldız attacked them and said that they wanted to burn them by cutting the natural gas pipe of the house. A gold chain, a ring, an earring and a connection appeared on Kemal Ayyıldız, who was forcibly neutralized. The messages that Kemal Ayyıldız sent to Aylin Sözer’s brother, Nilay, and his assistant after the murder, were included in the file as evidence.
