Recep Korkmaz, who went out to collect figs from a tree in his garden in the rural Poyraz district, began to hear humming. Korkmaz said that he went to the tree in his garden to collect figs and said: “I went to the fig tree in our garden to collect figs around 4:00 PM. While I was picking figs, I heard a buzzing noise and put my hand to my ear. When I couldn’t find anything, I continued picking figs and then went home. A while after I got home, I started hearing strange noises in my ears. I couldn’t sleep until morning because of this noise. In the morning, a family member from the neighborhood said: ‘Go to a doctor. There may be an insect or something else in your ear. Don’t neglect it, ‘he said. I immediately came to Salihli and made an appointment with the specialist ENT operator, Dr. Muhammet Yeniay, at a private hospital. I went to the doctor and they examined me. During the examination, I saw on the screen in front of me that there was a live fly in my ear and I was almost shocked. My doctor took a large fly out of my ear. Thank God I was relieved when the fly came out, ”he said.

Dr Muhammet Yeniay, a specialist in ear, nose and throat diseases, who removed the fly from Korkmaz’s ear vividly, said: “Our patient named Recep Korkmaz said that when he came to be examined, he heard a buzzing in his left ear. In addition to this, we suspected that there was a foreign body in our patient’s ear and we immediately performed the necessary examination. When we go into the ear with the camera, we notice the fly and we remove the fly in the ear. Right now, the eardrum is fine. He is also not hearing impaired. I have come across similar cases before. However, it is the first time that we have encountered a live fly in the ear, “he said.
