The intervention of the workplace owner rescued the customer, whose spine escaped into the windpipe of the fish he ate in Konya.
Şaban Kayaaslan, who went to a restaurant in Konya’s Ereğli district, broke his windpipe while eating.
The owner of the workplace, Mehmet Çelikel, realizing that his client was out of breath, intervened on Kayaaslan.
Kayaaslan began to breathe comfortably after Çelikel’s intervention.
“He couldn’t save himself with his own effort”
Çelikel said that while his client was eating fish, he suddenly got up and started walking through the restaurant.
Stating that he understood that his client had food in his trachea, Çelikel said. “We waited a while, but we couldn’t escape by his own effort. Then I went to him and intervened, he was saved.” said.
“My eyes started to go off”
Şaban Kayaaslan said he had a bone in his throat while eating at the restaurant.
Kayaaslan said that he later started coughing and that pieces of food escaped down his windpipe while he coughed. “I got up from the table, went into the store, I came, but I started to gasp. My eyes started to darken. Then the friend came and intervened. I was impressed by his intervention. I thank him.” said.

WHAT TO DO IN THIS EVENT?
The Heimlich maneuver is performed if the foreign body has descended from the person’s mouth so that it cannot be removed by hand. If the person is not yet conscious, the rescuer (the person who will perform the maneuver) walks behind the person and clenches his hands between the navel and the ribs.
Then, in a jerky motion, apply pressure to the abdomen with your fist and lift the person’s feet until they are off the ground. This process continues until the object that is obstructing the respiratory tract is expelled through the mouth.
The goal here is to ensure that the increased pressure in the abdomen compresses the lungs and the obstructing body is expelled with pressure. (We can compare this with soda or mineral water that has increased the pressure in the bottle by releasing its cap)
