Major events continue to unfold in the horror of the knife attack on the Notre Dame church in Nice, France. The identity of the attacker who killed three people, including two women yesterday, was revealed to be Tunisian refugee Brahim Aioussaoi.
Aioussaoi was found to have left his country on an immigrant ship and arrived on the island of Lampedusa in Italy on September 20 and arrived in Nice by train over Bari on the morning of October 29. It was learned that Aioussaoi spoke with his family before carrying out the attack.
In their investigation into the incident, French police detained two more people for having links to the attack. After a 47-year-old man was arrested yesterday, today a 33-year-old suspect was captured in a raid on his home.
MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR: MAY BE NEW ATTACKS
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin had said there could be further attacks on French soil due to “France’s war with Islamist ideology.” Speaking to RTL, Darmanin said: “We are at war with the enemy both within and without. “We must understand that these horrible attacks can be repeated,” he said.
