The Ankara Police Department’s Fight Against Financial Crimes teams began work following notification that some jewelers sold gold that had been tampered with in the market. The police, who took the jewelers under the spotlight, arrived at the gold production workshop in Ulus Anafartalar after a technical and physical monitoring. It was determined that in the workshop established in Ulus, where there are many jewelers in Ankara, gold with its settings was produced and launched on the market. Simultaneous operation to the workshop and the specified addresses began. In the workshop, 18 bracelets, 127 thousand lire, gold production machines, copper wire, precision balances and gold water were seized, which were modified and ready to be placed on the market.

MIX OF COPPER GOLD
On examination, it was determined that the suspects augmented their configuration by mixing copper alloy with the gold and increased the gold from 18-20 karat to 22 karat. Reliable company marks were found to be imprinted in gold and embossed-set bracelets. The financial police team, which tracked the golds released on the market, determined that these golds have been sold to 9 different jewelers so far. Companies whose trademarks are printed in gold and the Chamber of Jewelers have been warned about the fraud.
6 PEOPLE DETENTED
Six people, including jewelers, were arrested in the operation carried out in the area of the investigation. While goldsmiths M.Ö., ES and MKT, who were sent to court after interrogations by the police, were arrested, housewife Ç.Y., ST and N.Ö.K., who sold the gold the goldsmiths, they were arrested. he was released on condition of judicial control.
