Here are some highlights from President Erdogan’s statements:
After 6 months, I am very happy to be in Rize, my ancestral land. Recently, while someone was making fun of the number of universities on television, they said ‘There are universities without professors, do you boast about them? There are more than one hundred professors at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University.
I came last night. I had a bad time on the weekend. When will it be Thursday and we will go to Rize… Tomorrow we will examine the Rize – Artvin airport built on the sea. We shorten the roads, not Iraq. We said that the way is civilization, we take these steps. Weather permitting, we would like to see the Ayder Plateau works on site. We open the Ovit Tunnel and we want to see the latest situation.
We have provided and provided all kinds of support to the university for which our name was subsequently given. Our university in Rize has reached a level we are proud of, with 25 colleges and universities. Of course, this level does not seem sufficient to us. We hope that our university is first in the top 10 in our country and then in the top 500 in the world. I trust you, my esteemed teachers. This is what suits the university called Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

We recently shared our National Space Program. There is a group that all kinds of beneficial developments in their country collapse like a nightmare on them, they are disturbed. Some joke, some do not hesitate to show their hatred. This state of mind has now taken on an appearance that cannot be explained by political competition and conflict of interest. They say that if you build an airport, a space shuttle will land here. Explain the space program, they tell you, do you have anything else to do? When we send our own vehicle into space tomorrow, I can hear what they say if you’re out of the world. The main problem is that their secret power, which they can direct the state and society as they wish, is being destroyed. We also don’t allow blind hostility to get in the way of business. They try to close the execution gaps by explaining non-existent projects.
No municipality can issue bonds without the consent of the Ministry of Finance and Finance. It cannot issue bonds or borrow money abroad without the approval of the president. Recently, the head of the main opposition said: “We borrow abroad at such cheap rates.” E is a lie. Later, our ministry explained how this was a lie with documents. There is no need to lie, be honest. You need strength, you need stability to enter the race. This is not there.

I recently watched someone who is proud to distribute 40 thousand tablets in Istanbul, where the number of students exceeds 3.5 million. I put aside more than 2 million tablets distributed by the Ministry of National Education, no one wants to see the 50 thousand tablets distributed only by the Şahinbey district municipality.
As I said at the YÖK project presentation ceremony, the Turkish higher education system has reached an advanced level with the investment we made in infrastructure and human resources. Let me tell you, we are way ahead of our university from 77 to 207, our number of students of one million, Germany, Merkel was so shocked when she said that we have 8 million 400 thousand university students. In terms of number of students, we rank first in the number of access to universities in Europe. We got our share of the budget of 2.5 billion lire, and for this year we increased it to 36 billion lire. There are still those who want our universities in Anatolia to fail. The best response that our Anatolian universities will give to this evil mindset will be their achievements at the national and international level. More than 200 thousand students studying in our country are an important success in the world. I wish that the program we started to pair newly established universities in Anatolia with well established universities will lead to a new advance.
I want to do a self-criticism here. I would like to admit that we cannot do what we want in matters of family, education and culture. The lives of the generation before us, our generation, and the next generation have spent battling these distortions. This fight in all fields, from Hagia Sophia to the headscarf, kept us alive. Today we are faced with many conflicting images. So something is missing somewhere. “In the next period, we will put all these areas, from the family to education and training, from culture to art, as one of our priorities.
