IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu also made important remarks at the press conference held at the Haliç Congress Center about the new Halk Ekmek kiosks and the occupation rates of dams on the Istanbul agenda. He did not respond to the Akit TV reporter’s question when reacting to the language the newspaper used about him in the news.
“ANIMAL IS WRITING SCREEN, HAVE YOU READ?”
İmamoğlu said he did not want to answer the Akit TV reporter’s question about the queue and density of public transport due to lack of bread at Halk Ekmek kiosks due to the news item titled “Animal, Ekrem Doesn’t Care” posted on the Akit newspaper. İmamoğlu said the following;
* I do not know him, but the institution he represents does not have a journalistic identity. Have you read any news under the headline of Today’s Akit Newspaper? It says ‘Animal Ekrem’, have you read? Therefore, I do not bother to respond to your institution.
* In this sense, I would not respond to an institution that cannot regulate the behavior of 16 million people and a person for whom about 5 million vote, whose pen is perverted and acts with distorted language.
* Let me tell you that you see the Public Bread wrong, and you make comments about public transport at a certain time and as always, you ask prejudiced questions without including conscience and justice in your interpretation. I would like to tell you that nothing I have said is about you.
After the meeting, İmamoğlu spoke with the Akit TV reporter and reiterated that the problem was not related to him and asked for information about his findings.
İmamoğlu stated that he did not want to respond to the reporter due to the news headlined “Animal, Ekrem doesn’t care” published in the Akit newspaper.
“THE ASSEMBLY CANNOT ENCLOSE US IN PAN DE HALK”
In his statement about the journalists’ questions, İmamoğlu used the following statements about the lack of approval of the new demands of 142 Public Bread Buffet in the Assembly of the IMM, where the AKP-MHP group is majority;
* The assembly cannot confine us to the issue of Bread of the People. There are flexible solutions at the request of the citizen. There is also a mobile distribution side, we create other legal solutions. It’s a shame to ‘give him a buffet for this’. A person attributes what he knows of his own action to another person.
* The determination we make when we first arrive is as follows; On the map of poverty, there are many citizens who can get their cards and buy zero bread from us. We saw that these people had to spend money to get free bread, they had to get on the minibus, they had no other choice.
* And the places where we will place the buffet where we will distribute, the places where our poor citizens cannot reach the public bread kiosks. Despite all obstacles, we will be the solution to these difficult days in Istanbul. We will increase the bread production capacity to 1.5 million.
“THE WATER INTERRUPTION PROBLEM DOES NOT APPEAR”
Turkey generally experimented and Istanbul also felt that İmamoğlu made a statement about the drop in the occupation rates of dams due to the drought, he has used the following expressions;
* Even with the least amount of rain, we don’t have a water shortage issue that will alert Istanbul at this time. The strategy to solve the water problem in Istanbul was presented in 1989. At that time, there was a SHP municipality in Istanbul.
* Turkey was running the MP. In this regard, the Melen Law was enacted. Unfortunately, Melen, who was supposed to end in 2016, faced other problems. Our negotiations with the Ministry and DSI show that Melen is 4 years old.
* We pump Melen water from the stream flow. In these difficult days, we have started to dig new wells, to maintain the balance of Istanbul’s water. If Melen had finished today, it would be true that we said what was said before the elections, we solved the water problem by 2040.
Unfortunately, this is not the case right now. We do not have an urgent alert for today. But there is a risk. That risk is that next year will also be dry. We study our action plans.
