The actions of the yellow vests, which caused social and political problems in the country, revitalized the streets of Paris.
Hundreds of protesters gathered in Wagram Square in Paris, chanting slogans against President Emmanuel Macron and the government and carrying banners.
While there was a confrontation between the police and the protesters in the square and surrounding streets, the police intervened with tear gas at the protesters who fired various substances.
The activists who burned several electric scooters, a garbage container and a vehicle also caused havoc. From time to time there was a fight between the police and the protesters who then marched.
A group of protesters also protested in Bourse Square.
According to a statement from the Paris Police Department, 256 people were arrested during the demonstration in the capital.
Police, who took intensive security measures during the protests in Paris, increased security measures on Champs-Elysee street in the face of the possibility of the yellow vests demonstrating.
Around 30 metro stations were closed due to protests in the capital.
Demonstrations were also held in cities such as Strasbourg, Lyon, Bordeaux and Toulouse.
The Yellow Vests demonstrations began on November 17, 2018 in response to fuel price increases and economic conditions, and later escalated into demonstrations against the Macron administration.
The police violence in the demonstrations generated controversy in the country.
While 11 people have died since the protests began, 26 people lost their sight, 5 people lost their hands and some 500 people were injured as a result of the police intervention.
