Former Rector of the Middle East Technical University (METU) Prof. Dr. The news of Ahmet Acar’s death was announced on the university’s social media account.
In the statement, “Our esteemed professor, the professor, who made a very valuable contribution to the development of our university and served as METU’s president between 2008 and 2016. Dr. Ahmet Acar was lost. We wish our dear deceased teacher mercy, and our condolences and patience to his bereaved family and all his loved ones. “
WHO IS AHMET ACAR?
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Acar was born in Istanbul in 1949.
He served as Vice President of the Department of Business Administration, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences and Founding Rector of the North Cyprus Campus at METU.
He assumed the responsibility of conducting the studies of the METU Strategic Plan 2005-2010.
In 2008 and 2012, he was appointed rector of the Middle East Technical University twice in a row by then-President Abdullah Gül.
