In the statement made by the Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD), the following statements were used:

* On Friday 10.30.2020, at 2:51 p.m., an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 occurred in front of the Seferihisar of the Aegean Sea.

* The distance from the earthquake that occurred at a depth of 16.54 km to the Seferihisar district of İzmir province, which is the closest settlement unit, is 17.26 km. After the earthquake, there were a total of 615 aftershocks, of which 40 aftershocks of magnitude more than 4.

* According to the first information obtained from SAKOM, a total of 39 citizens lost their lives, 1 of them due to drowning; 885 citizens were injured. Search and rescue activities continue in 9 buildings in İzmir.

FIELD SCANNING AND SEARCH AND RESCUE WORK CONTINUES

* 5,674 people, 21 search and rescue dogs and 895 vehicles from AFAD, JAK, NGOs and municipalities were assigned for the search and rescue activities underway in the region.

* After the earthquake that was felt throughout the Aegean region, field exploration studies continue in all provinces affected by the earthquake, especially in İzmir. In addition, the Gendarmerie, Police and TSK carry out aerial scanning and image transfer studies with the support of JIKU, helicopters and UAVs.

* After the earthquake, all the Ministries and Provincial Centers for Disaster and Emergency Management were on alert; Search and rescue personnel from 41 AFAD provincial / union directorates were dispatched to the region.

* The shipments of personnel and vehicles are made with 7 cargo planes belonging to the General Staff. Search and rescue teams from JAK and non-governmental organizations were dispatched to the region.

* The Coast Guard Command participates in search and rescue operations with 186 personnel, 15 Coast Guard boats, 3 helicopters and 1 diving team.

HOUSING AND NUTRITION NEEDS ARE SATISFIED IN THE REGION

* To meet the urgent need for shelter, AFAD sent 1,130 tents, 100 general-purpose tents, 5,572 blankets, 3,800 beds, 3,100 sleeping sets, 4 shower-WC containers to the region; The Turkish Red Crescent sent 2,049 tents, 51 general-purpose tents, 6,888 beds, 16,050 blankets and 2,657 kitchen sets. In addition, the Turkish Red Crescent sent 249 staff members, 281 volunteers, 37 catering vehicles, mobile feeding units with capacity for 56,300 meals and 83,480 supplies (sweets and drinks) to the region.

* In order to meet the accommodation needs of our citizens, a total of 288 beds and blankets have been allocated to the Bornova Gymnastics Sports Hall and Bornova Öğütcan Sports Hall, meeting the accommodation needs of 288 citizens.

* 360 tents were set up in Aşık Veysel Recreation Area and 1,440 beds and 2,212 blankets were also shipped.

* 120 tents were set up in the Ege University campus area and 864 beds, 800 blankets and 1,920 sets of pillow sheets were shipped.

* 1,008 beds, 1,000 blankets and 980 sets of pillow sheets were sent to Izmir Bornova Eskişehir Stadium.

WORKING GROUPS CONTINUE THEIR ACTIVITIES IN THE REGION

* A total of 520 people, 354 from the Ministry of the Environment and Urbanization and 166 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, were assigned for damage assessment studies in the region.

* 167 people from the psychosocial work group with 25 vehicles participated in the fieldwork and 482 people in 136 homes were interviewed. In addition, 2 vehicles from mobile social service centers were dispatched to the region.

* 114,460 masks and 5,000 disinfectants were sent to the region to be distributed by the Red Crescent public health and psychosocial support teams.

* 292 staff members, including 260 riot police and 32 traffic personnel from the Traffic and Safety Task Force, were dispatched to the scene. A total of 192 construction teams and 224 people work in the field of technical support and supply.

* 102 vehicles were assigned to participate in the studies carried out in the region by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests. Food service is provided to 400 people in the Regional Directorate of Forestry.

* 234 vehicles and 835 UMKE personnel and 112 Emergency teams were assigned in the region. According to information provided by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, there are power outages in 17 fields in İzmir and teams are working to remove the outages. A total of 34 mobile base stations have been dispatched to the region and the installation of the required 27 stations has been completed.

* According to the information obtained from the Coast Guard Command, 19 boats sank after the earthquake, 23 boats and 1 land vehicle were rescued by the Coast Guard Command teams, 43 boats were stranded. Rescue efforts continue for the Coast Guard Command.

A TOTAL OF 18 MILLION TL EMERGENCY AID PAYMENT HAS BEEN SENT TO THE EARTHQUAKE AREA

* TL 13,000,000 by AFAD to be used in studies carried out in the region; The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services sent an emergency aid of 5,000,000 TL.

* In accordance with the Turkey Disaster Response Plan, search and rescue, health, in order to carry out support work without interruption, the Presidency of Disaster Management and Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior (AFAD) in coordination with all working groups, was activated by the operation of 7 days 24 hours.

TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR CITIZENS!

* Damaged buildings in the disaster area should not be entered. Roads should be left empty for emergency vehicles. When leaving homes after the earthquake, if there is no smell of natural gas in the environment, the natural gas and water valves and electrical switches should be turned off.

* Our citizens should not use their phones unless they need urgent assistance. Support should be provided for infants, children, the elderly and people with disabilities who may need assistance. Events and seismic activity in the region are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the AFAD of the Ministry of the Interior.
