Fist attack on former Georgian President Saakashvili in Athens

Former President Mikheil Saakashvili, wanted for embezzlement and abuse of power during his presidency in Georgia, met with Georgian citizens in Athens, the capital of Greece.

While providing information on the parliamentary elections to be held in Georgia on October 31, Saakashvili was attacked by an unknown fist during the meeting. After the attack, the Athens police dispersed the crowd and removed Saakashvili from the area.

In making a statement after the attack, Saakashvili accused his rivals in Georgia of organizing the attack.
