The forest fire, which is believed to have started due to the transformer explosion at 10.15 yesterday, in a region close to the residential area between the rural Sarımazı district of the Bethlehem district, TOKİ and İssume, quickly spread due to the strong wind.
Difficulty was also experienced in the aerial intervention of the fire, since the strong winds made work difficult. Many neighborhoods were evacuated due to the fire that also threatened the settlements.
Police teams made announcements to evacuate some houses and remove vehicles in Sarımazı district. Citizens who left their homes and got into their vehicles left the area.
The flames spread to a factory in the Nardüzü neighborhood of the Arsuz district with some houses and businesses. On the one hand, the teams that intervened in the forest fire, on the other hand, extinguished the fire that spread to the settlements.
With the effect of the wind, the fire in the Bethlehem district spread to the countryside of the İskenderun district.
