Burak Genç, 29, who lives in Istanbul, and his father, Mehmet Genç, 49, died five days apart. Mehmet Genç’s cause of death was Covid-19, while Burak Genç suffered a heart attack during the quarantine process.
The Covid-19 test was applied to the father and son on the symptoms observed on October 28. Mehmet Genç, whose test results were positive, was treated at the hospital, while Burak Genç was quarantined at home.
Burak Genç, on the last day of his quarantine on November 6, did an investigation into how patients were intubated on the Internet after learning that his father’s condition had worsened. Burak Genç collapsed on the computer and was taken to the hospital by relatives.
The young man who had reportedly suffered a heart attack was unable to save himself. Burak Genç’s body was buried in the village of Gürgen in the Güneysu district of his hometown, Rize.
Father Mehmet Genç, whose treatment continued after his death and the condition of the hospital worsened, also passed away yesterday.
Mehmet Genç, father of three children, was buried today in the cemetery where his son was previously buried. The death of father and son in five days caused great anguish to their relatives, relatives and neighbors.
