After seven people in Kırıkkale and 18 people in İzmir died from drinking fake alcohol, reports of intoxication came from four more cities. Five people in Mersin, one in Istanbul, two in Muğla and two in Aydın died due to methyl alcohol poisoning, the death toll increased to 35. It was known that the treatment of 35 people continues, the majority in intensive care.
Operations gained momentum as deaths from counterfeit alcohol rose. During operations in Konya, Bursa, Izmir, Istanbul and Mersin, liters of ethyl alcohol, tons of counterfeit and smuggled drinks, and many raki-whiskey-vodka kits were seized.
