The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry banned the online sale of ethyl alcohol and methanol. The application will start after 60 days. In the relevant regulation, the phrase “ethyl alcohol for domestic use” was replaced by the phrase “general”.
PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE
With the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry published in the current edition of the Official Gazette, the regulations on the production and internal and external trade of ethyl alcohol and methanol were modified.
Consequently, ethyl alcohol and methanol cannot be sold on the Internet. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will take permits, monitoring and follow-up measures to establish the safety of the market for ethyl alcohol, methanol and alcoholic beverages.
With the modification made, the approvals and permits obtained from the Tobacco and Alcohol Market Regulatory Board in the permitting, production and renovation processes of the ethyl alcohol production facilities were transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.
With the amendment, section a) of article 20 of the regulation that regulates the way in which ethyl alcohol is marketed for domestic use was eliminated.
In accordance with a clause added to article 28 of the Regulation, the transfer will not be allowed if the natural or legal persons that will transfer or take over the ethyl alcohol production plant have an overdue tax debt.
WILL START AFTER 60 DAYS
According to the temporary article added to the regulation, the sale of ethyl alcohol for domestic use can be carried out for 60 days. The products in question will not be available on the market after the end of this period, and the products found in places with certificates of sale after this period will be returned to the importer or manufacturer within three months.

Methyl alcohol (methanol) is made by distilling wood chips. It is used in the production of paint thinners, duplicating machine fluid, antifreeze, glass cleaner in industry. Acute poisoning occurs mainly as a result of accidental use of alcohol, while chronic poisoning occurs as a result of inhaling the vapor in workplaces.
