İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, who survived the coronavirus, went to İzmir after visiting firefighters working on the earthquake.
İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu made his first post-coronavirus treatment visit to the Istanbul Fire Department search and rescue team, which was involved in the Izmir earthquake.
65 hours after the earthquake, İmamoğlu also met with firefighter Muammer Çelik, who was part of the team that rescued 3-year-old Elif Perinçek from the rubble, holding the finger of the tiny earthquake victim, and Süreyya Mümtaz Kurt, photographer from the Istanbul fire department, who took the historical photograph of that time.

Stating that the IMM Fire Department is a historic organization, İmamoğlu thanked all personnel involved in search and rescue efforts for their outstanding success in the Izmir earthquake.

After this visit, Ekrem İmamoğlu moved to Izmir to conduct observations in the earthquake area where 114 people lost their lives.
