The sentencing of Sedat Ayverdi, who was on duty at the checkpoint with his minibus under the influence of drugs, hit Buket Keleş and became a martyr in Izmir.
The accident occurred on November 19 last year, near the Izmir Adnan Menderes airport checkpoint.
The minibus under the direction of Sedat Ayverdi on the way to Torbalı struck Buket Keleş, 28, a police officer who was crossing the street.
Keleş, who was treated at Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, died 8 days after losing the battle of life.

In the report prepared by the Institution of Legal Medicine on the subject, it was pointed out that drugs were found in Ayverdi’s blood during the accident and therefore it was not possible to drive the defendant’s vehicle in a normal way.
The expert opinion indicated that Sedat Ayverdi was driving after consuming drugs and recreational substances, exceeding the prescribed speed limit, did not adjust his speed according to weather and environmental conditions, and did not pay the necessary attention to the road.
In a third report from the Department of Traffic Specialization of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, it was claimed that both parties were at fault.
GOOD CONDITION IS IMPLEMENTED
The trial without arrest of the defendant Ayverdi continued in the 30th Court of First Instance in Izmir. Attorneys for the parties attended the decision hearing. The judicial board decided that Ayverdi be sentenced to 4 years in prison, which will be increased to 5 years and 4 months for having committed the action with deliberate negligence, but that he will be sentenced to 4 years 5 months and 10 days in prison by reducing the accused for his good conduct in court.
