The Department of Culture and Social Affairs of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality organized an event for children on the Kırklar mountain in the South district, “The plan of the Kırklar mountain delighted us.”
Diyarbakır Governor Münir Karaloğlu, students, many athletes and city residents attended the program. While the children were having fun at the event, where 500 kites were distributed, some families also had a picnic in the area.
Governor Münir Karaloğlu made a statement to members of the press at the event. Karaloğlu made an evaluation of the opening of 725 houses on the Kırklar mountain, which is located on the hill overlooking the Tigris river that passes through the central district of Sur, and is the subject of popular songs, signed by the mayor of the Peace Party and Southern Democracy, Abdullah Demirbaş, and members of the council.
Governor Karaloğlu pointed out that after the court demolished the houses, the metropolitan municipality will pay 100 million lira to those who buy houses.

Governor Karaloğlu, who stated that a count will be made of those who approve these structures on Kırklar Mountain, said:
* Unfortunately, wild 22-24-story concrete buildings were erected in this city’s most important asset. You remember?
* These concrete blocks contaminated the view of the city and Kırklar Mountain and cast a shadow on our cultural assets here.
* Then the court canceled the zoning. They said ‘The reconstruction has been done wrong’. They said, ‘That’s farmland.’ It was opened for construction without permission. When the court was canceled, our president instructed our friends in the Metropolitan Municipality to save Diyarbakir from filth.
* Those concrete blocks, that ugly image were erased from the plain of Kırklar Mountain, the most beautiful hill in Diyarbakır. The work was not finished, we had citizens who bought flats in good faith in this project. They were not at fault. The crime belongs to the mayor and councilors of the time that opened the place for construction.
* Citizens who bought a flat went to court, and now the administrative courts have sentenced the Diyarbakır metropolitan municipality to 100 million TL. Your money is 100 million TL.
* Confused by some, today we have to pay 100 million Diyarbakır residents to our citizens who bought flats there in good faith. But our citizens of Diyarbakır should be safe.
* If I do not bring the wick from the nose of the mayors and councilors who committed those 100 million lire who were wrong and signed under that money that day, here I would not be governor.
* Whoever makes a mistake has to pay the price. Those who opened the most beautiful area, the historic place and the agricultural area of this city to development and those who signed the decision have to pay those 100 million TL. We will fight against this law. DHA
