The following statements were made on the Twitter account of the United States Embassy in Ankara with the note, “There have been many opinions in the Turkish press about the map called ‘Map of Seville’ so far”.

* Regarding the ‘legal status’ of the Seville Map, the USA does not consider the Seville Map to have any legal significance.
* We see that the European Union does not consider the Map of Seville as a legally binding document.
* Maritime jurisdictions are decided by the agreement reached between the relevant states based on the law.
* The US firmly supports the dialogue and negotiations in good faith and understanding of Turkey and Greece, to encourage exploratory talks will be restarted as soon as possible.
AKAR HAS MADE AN EXPLANATION ABOUT ‘SEVILLA MAP’
Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defense, conducted examinations and inspections at the Navy Command on August 14, 2020.
Minister Akar made the following statements, also referring to Meis Island:
