Stating that the changes made by the Coronavirus Scientific Committee regarding the quarantine period for close contacts caused misinterpretations, the Ministry of Health issued a written statement on the matter.
In the statement, which said that the quarantine period was reduced from 14 days to 10 days in parallel with international updates, the following statements were made:
* Updates made by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) according to scientific studies are instantly followed by our country and integrated into our guidelines.
* Regulations regarding the reduction of the quarantine period for close contacts from 14 days to 10 days and termination at the end of the 7th day according to the result of the PCR test were carried out in parallel with the international updates listed above.
* In managing the epidemic, we act with the recommendations of our Scientific Committee and with a common mindset. The only priority in all our decisions is the health of our citizens. Our update on the quarantine period is also within this scope.
