KILLINGS OF WOMEN
It is not a segment of society, but a whole problem. Together we have to fix this. We need to get rid of the education of this starting with the family, the language in education, our position, gender equality, the wrong traditions. None of them are truly our tradition.
I gave the name Özgecan Aslan to a cultural center. This is not something to be proud of. I gave it to hurt us, to be in front of us symbolically.
WHAT ARE THE 3 MISTAKES YOU MADE?
We have jobs that are late. This is due to the inability to put the process in resource order. Projects related to squares, for example. We have some delays and this issue makes me sad.

The application of the HES code in public transport began. As of January 15, all of our citizens must match the HES code. Those who do not will not be able to use public transport.
TAXI PROJECT
I need to talk about UKOME instead of the taxi project. UKOME happened overnight. A person from the Ministry of the Family became a member of UKOME. Why is that? So that İmamoğlu has fewer chairs. They are working so that there is no decision in favor of the city. The taxi decision got caught up in the voting system there. The number of taxis in this city has not changed for 30 years. We expected the number of tourists to be around 16 million. The number of taxis should increase in this city. In such a system, my traders are also unhappy. I’m with the taxi driver’s shopkeepers. This is the second increase after your arrival. Before that, it was not done for 3 years.
The head of the taxi driver’s room could not come to see me, but the friends who came said that we accepted the purchase. Why am I going to sell you the property in Istanbul? We will save that process. The head of the taxi driver’s chamber is a politician. Some galleries dealing with license plates are not satisfied with this job.
DROUGHT PROBLEM
Water has been an important issue for Istanbul since the Byzantine period. Mimar Sinan and Kanuni Sultan Süleyman started the reconstruction process to bring water to Istanbul via bridges. The Melen process began with the decision of Turgut Özal. The most important problem we face today is the problem of drought. The whole world should take precautions in this regard. Therefore, the Istanbul Canal should not be done. Istanbul received almost 45 percent less rain in November. The rate of water our municipality gets from Melen is roughly 35 percent of the water we use today, 40 percent. What will happen if it doesn’t rain? The question is the most important problem. The fact that Melen is finished means that Istanbul has no water problems even in the driest period. It takes 3 to 3.5 times for this to be fully operational in Istanbul. We have searches. We have missions that include the treatment of seawater. This work does not happen from yesterday to today. Currently, we are analyzing this problem, but when you look at the daily amount of water in Istanbul, it is not possible to cover all this with sea water. However, this is not a correct investment. It should also be kept out of the way as an emergency water source. We are currently reviewing the simulation for the entire year. Melen is already flooded. There is also a set of action plans related to the water of the Sakarya River. We made our plans in different scenarios, around 7-8 scenarios. On the Melen side, there is a rain process in the Western Black Sea. It’s raining there. Istanbul has no water problems in recent months. The dry winter of 2021 presents itself to us as a serious problem. The dam occupancy rate is just over 20 percent. There is currently no planning for the water shortage in the summer. Even if Istanbul has received the least amount of rain in the last 20 years, we have water to feed ourselves.
WILL YOU BE A CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT?
My only concentration is the Municipality of Istanbul. These jobs are not about wanting, people demand of you.
WATER PRICE TIMES
We returned the price of water in Istanbul to the price of 5 years ago. We made the discount as soon as it arrived. We are the ones who discounted the water purchased by Istanbul residents at a higher price. After that discount, there was an increase from time to time. There is no provision for this increase because we have deducted the maintenance cost of the invoices in accordance with the decision of the Court of Auditors. We made a 6.5 percent increase in 20 months. People see the bill. Now they drink cheaper water than when we were elected.
We made the 50 lire student card. Its raised status is 50 lire. We provide free access to mothers with children. There were times when we did not get rent, there were subscribers when we erased their debts. We touched 1,300,000 families during the coronavirus process. We have implemented a great idea as a pending invoice.
