The mother, who was arrested for the death of a 1-year-old Syrian baby who was hospitalized with injuries and burns to the body in Sancaktepe, was arrested and the father was released on condition of judicial control.
The security procedures of the mother and father, who were detained at the hospital for the death of a 1-year-old baby Hayat, who lived with his mother and father in the Gazi district, were completed at the hospital, where he was transferred with scars and burns on the body.
The baby’s father, AN, and his mother, who were brought to the Anatolian Court of Justice in Kartal, were sent to the duty judge, demanding that they be arrested after their statements in the VB prosecutor’s office.
The Eighth Anatolian Criminal Magistracy decided to arrest mother VB for “deliberate murder against a child or a person who could not defend himself in terms of body or spirit”, and the suspected father AN to be released under judicial control measures.
The suspected mother, VB, stated that she had put her son to bed after feeding her baby food at the judge’s questioning and said: “My wife went to look for work. My son vomited on the bed. I cleaned her up. My daughter was awake. She was playing alone. After a while, she vomited again. I fell on him. I don’t know how long I was on the child. When I woke up, I saw that the child was under me. He was pale, groaning. I immediately called my wife, I said: ‘My daughter’s condition is not good, she cannot breathe.
Explaining that the girl was taken to the hospital with the arrival of her husband later, mother VB said in her statement:
“When I woke up at night when I saw my eyes open, I was afraid of the boy. Sometimes I loved my son very much. Sometimes I didn’t like him at all. I was unconsciously pinching my son. I was doing this when I got lost. I bit my son’s belly. 3 months ago I lost my mother. Sometimes I loved my son. Sometimes I didn’t like him. He was also biting. I did not tell my wife about this incident because she was very afraid. She did not witness nothing. My wife never saw the bruises on the child. I was wearing long clothes for my son. Therefore, my husband did not understand at all. I did not inflict such violence on my other children. My conscience hurts. “

The one-year-old baby Hayat, who lived with her parents in Gazi district, was taken to the Sancaktepe training hospital with injuries and burns on her body, and the baby, who was transferred to a hospital in Çekmeköy, died here.
While the mother and father were detained on suspicion of torture, Hayat was taken to the morgue of the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
