Dean of Istanbul University Tükek Faculty of Medicine: the epidemic started again in Istanbul

The first corona virus cases seen in Turkey on March 11 add to the effect. After the ban in June, the number of cases increased again, the dean of the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Tufan Tükek made a remarkable statement.

POSITIVITY RATE 15 PERCENT

In making a statement on his social media account, Tükek emphasized the increase in the number of cases and said;

* 81 out of 530 tests were positive in Çapa. The positivity rate exceeded 15%. Now we can say that the epidemic has started again for Istanbul.

* Predominantly young and sadly high rate of pneumonia. I write to take precautions, not to demoralize. Otherwise everyone will be upset.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OF MESSAGES

Following the further escalation, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a statement after last week’s cabinet meeting that “standing passengers will not be allowed in all our provinces on public transport.”

In accordance with the recommendation of the Scientific Committee and the instructions of President Erdogan, the Interior Ministry established new rules for urban passenger transport by sending an additional circular on “Covid-19 Measures” to the governorates of 81 provinces.

After the publication of the circular, it was the subject of discussion how the ban on passenger transport will be implemented in congested cities.

4 DIFFERENT TIME ZONES WILL BE DETERMINED

After Anklara, whose working hours were reduced to 4 different time zones with the change made for public institutions, measures were taken for Istanbul.

Unlike Ankara, the working hours of private sector employees, who make up the majority of passenger capacity in Istanbul, will also be reorganized.

Government and IMM officials will meet with private sector representatives this week for the implementation, in which four different work schedules will be determined.
