A group of members of the ANAP Platform gathered in front of the Ankara Courthouse reacted to Edizer, who shared a post about Mesut Yılmaz on his social media account Twitter.
Lawyer Özgür Salman, who issued a press release on behalf of the group, said:
* In this post, Edizer expressed his wish that our former Prime Minister die as soon as possible, and he caricatured the Imam Hatip High School graduates as cotton officers in the gasilhouses in his post.
* Criticism of country leaders is a phenomenon that should exist in functioning democracies; However, wishing death to a person who is struggling with health problems in his bed will create discrimination in society, and handing this over to other institutions generally does not comply with social beliefs, customs and traditions, or with legal norms.
* Especially if the suspect doing this is a doctor, it is not an acceptable situation. We leave to the discretion of the professional and administrative institutions of the medical profession that the member of a profession that we hope will understand more about the psychology of the patient and who is responsible for the healing of patients wishes the patient to die as soon as possible.
* Positions held by former GATA Deputy Chief Physician Ali Edizer are outside of all the qualifications we have mentioned. We believe that the response to the aforementioned action in the matter of TCK will be objectively evaluated by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The group, which carried photographs of Mesut Yılmaz in their hands, filed a criminal complaint against Edizer for “inciting the public to hatred and enmity”, “insult” and “hatred, discrimination”.
