In a study by scientists in Switzerland, it was claimed that some “troublesome symptoms” of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) can last for more than 6 weeks even in patients who are not under risk factors.
A team of doctors and epidemiologists from the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the Geneva University Hospital (HUG) and the General Directorate of Health of the Canton of Geneva carried out the research.
The research was conducted on approximately 700 people who tested positive for Covid-19 but did not require hospitalization.

THE SYMPTOM IS SEEN 6 WEEKS AFTER DIAGNOSIS

Even 6 weeks after diagnosis, a third of the participants experienced one or more Covid-19-related symptoms.
The main symptoms were fatigue (14 percent), loss of smell or taste (12 percent), shortness of breath (9 percent), persistent cough (6 percent), and headache (3 percent).
Dr. Mayssam Nehme noted that, in addition to the physical distress they experienced, most participants were concerned that these symptoms were “permanent and incurable.”
