His lawyer, Omid Moradi, argued that Zahra Ismaili was convicted of murdering his wife, Ali Rıza Zamani, but that Zamani mistreated his client and committed murder to protect himself and his daughter.
Describing how his client died on his Facebook page, the lawyer explained that during the incident at Rajai Shahr prison on Saturday, Ismaili was forced to follow the execution of 16 men before him.
According to the lawyer, Ismaili suffered a heart attack and died just before his turn came. However, his client’s body was still hanging so that the victim could exercise his right to kick his mother’s death row.
Moradi noted that Alireza Zamani is the general director of the Intelligence Ministry and the couple has two children.
