CHP municipalities minimum wage decision

Last week the first stage of the meetings of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission was held, in which millions of employees are blindfolded, the second meeting will be held on December 15 and the third on December 22.

Noting that the minimum wage, which is currently 2324 lire, is far from providing humane living conditions, the unions asked the Government for an adequate figure and drew attention to the steps taken by the municipalities of the CHP.

The CHP Akhisar Municipality of Manisa announced that the minimum wage will not be less than 3,100 lira. The mayor of Akhisar, Besim Dutlu, said in a statement from the Twitter account, “laughs in 2021 that the minimum wage of our workers working in our municipality will be less than 3,100 TL. Millet by our working brothers throughout Turkey” .

The lowest salary in CHP’s Kırşehir municipality was increased to 3,000 lira. Recalling that they took over the municipality with a debt of 462 million lire, the minister of the municipality of Kırşehir, Selahattin Ekicioğlu, said that they spend 3 million lire lost every month with the savings they applied and spend 2 million lire in profit each month.

Explaining the increases to employees as a result of his meetings with union representatives, Ekicioğlu said: “We made increases of between 15 and 35 percent for our employees. The general average of the increases in the climbs reached 25 percent. “When social rights are included, we have increased our workers by as much as 40 percent.”
