A truck collided with a jeep in the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar. 4 people from the same family died in the accident, the truck driver was injured and survived.
The accident occurred around 20:00 at kilometer 13 of the Çay-Konya highway near Akçaköy, a district of Dinar.
The TIR, with the tractor plate 01 Y 8546 and the trailer plate 01 Y 9181 of Murat Kaplan, collided head-on with the jeep with the vehicle plate 31 ADT 254 of Vehbi Özen coming from the opposite direction. The jeep, blown up by the impact of the collision, flew into the field.
Following the notice of those who saw the accident, the gendarmerie, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Driver Vehbi Özen and his wife Ayşe Özen and Cemile Kılıçaslan, who were in the jeep, were found to have been killed.
Özen’s son, Yağmur Özen, was taken by medical teams to Dinar State Hospital with serious injuries. Yağmur Özen, who was intervened here, could not be saved either.
The bodies trapped in the vehicle were removed by the Dinar municipality firefighters and taken to the morgue of the Dinar State Hospital for autopsy.
Trucker Murat Kaplan, who was injured in the same accident, was also treated. An investigation was launched into the accident.
