Health Minister Fahrettin Koca Van issued a press release after evaluation meetings held in Muş, Hakkari and Bitlis.
“THE ISTANBUL OFFICE OF THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION IS OPEN”
Health Minister Koca said:
* We reverse the latest situation in the region to the center. We evaluate the health services in Bitlis, Muş and Hakkari in detail with a focus on Van. I will share with you the decisions we have made and the important news about these provinces.
* The office of the World Health Organization was opened in Istanbul. The Istanbul Office will be a guide and reference center for Europe and the world to respond to all the crises faced by people in the health field, especially Covid-19.
* The Corona virus outbreak in Turkey is a strong health infrastructure, successfully tested with experienced and dedicated health professionals. The period when the material world and Turkey could experience difficulties in accessing opportunities to help more than 150 countries.
* The definitive treatment of the Corona virus epidemic has not yet been found. However, our country has become one of the most successful countries in terms of effective treatment. We began to reduce the number of cases with strict measures taken in the months when the pandemic began.
“WE SEE PROBLEMS IN SOME PROVINCES”
* Thanks to the strict measures taken in the months of the pandemic, we began to reduce the number of cases. In June, a period of caution began by saying controlled social life. It was about keeping wounded and seriously ill patients in small numbers with a controlled social life.
* Our regions of Central Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia were places where measures were ignored and the number of cases increased as social relationships came to the fore. There were also the provinces of Van, Muş, Bitlis and Hakkari. We have seen problems with the increase in patients in some provinces. We speak with our governors and health managers and review the actions to be taken.
LAST SITUATION IN VAN, BİTLİS, MUŞ AND HAKKARİ
* Van has increased 17 percent in the last week. It was seen as an 8 percent decrease in the last week in Muş. It was stable in Hakkari for the last week. We were stable in Bitlis for the last week.
* When we look at those over 65 in 4 provinces, we see that there are 4 floors in Van and 3 floors in the other three provinces. We must do much more to protect our elders.
* We are increasing our patient bed capacity to 221 by adding 93 beds to our intensive care beds in Van in the coming days.
* The occupancy rate in Van is 54 percent, Intensive Care is 74 percent. We are increasing the number of intensive care beds to 80 at Bitlis.
* At Bitlis, our occupancy rate with 55 beds is 51 percent and the occupancy rate is 43 percent.
* We will increase the number of intensive care units to 48 beds in Muş. Our bed occupancy rate is 35 percent, intensive care 58 percent.
* We will increase the number of intensive care beds to 44 in Hakkari. Bed occupancy in Hakkari is 51 percent, intensive care is 47 percent.
INTENSIVE CARE OCCUPATION RATE OF 67 PERCENT IN TURKEY
* Turkey we observed total bed occupancy of 52 percent, with 67 percent intensive care, 32 percent contained breathing apparatus.
* We can easily say that we have no problem. Our main goal is to stop the increase in patients. Contact detection, that is, the screening study, is vital in our fight against the epidemic.
“WE INCREASE OUR NUMBER OF FILATION TEAM”
* In Van, we increased the number of our crew from 80 at the beginning of the epidemic to 128. Today, the number of our film crew will reach 150 crews.
* We increased the movie to 90 in Bitlis, 65 in Hakkari and 50 in Muş. Our time to contact contacts in Van has been reduced to 17 hours.
“THE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PATIENTS IN THE REGION CONTINUES”
* The increase in the number of patients in the region still continues. The rate of people who cannot be found at their addresses to fill in the provinces is 9.2 percent.
* I would like to stress that contacts and suspects must be isolated. We will continue fighting together until there are no patients left.
“THE VIOLATIONS OF OUR CITIZENS ARE GREATLY ABOUT US”
* The 75-bed Başkale State Hospital projects will be completed this year and construction will begin. We incorporated our Hasköy State Hospital. We have included our 500-bed research and education hospital in the center of Muş in an investment program.
* This year we will commission our Degreeik district hospital in Hakkari. We have included an oral health center in our investment program in Yüksekova. The patient correction process has been completed for the additional 100-bed building in Hakkari. We will open our 50-bed Anafem facilities in Bitlis.
* Our health personnel have been the most exposed since the beginning of the epidemic. Our healthcare providers are altruistic, we cannot expect these sacrifices to be sacrificed because of their carelessness and irresponsibility. The negligence of our citizens to comply with the measures saddens us very much. Be very careful.
* The main duty falls on our citizens. As long as we comply with the cleaning, mask and distance measures, the virus will remain ineffective and will no longer be a threat. I thank you all.
“TREND AND DEMAND FOR MORE VACCINE AGAINST THE FLU”
* Especially this year, we see that the trend and demand for influenza vaccine is higher in the world. The number of manufacturing companies is safe. This capacity is increasing by 20 percent this year overall. The demand goes far beyond that.
* In our country, we are in an intense effort to supply more of the vaccine that we requested last year in this regard. We will have achieved a result in terms of providing this supply at the rate of two, three or even four times the previous years. But the important thing is that we know that not everyone has to do group vaccination.
* The Scientific Committee is doing a study against who will do it. We will explain it to you in the next few days. We know that the elderly population in the region is not very high, 4.8 percent. In this sense, I can easily say that we will have no problems getting our patients at risk with the flu vaccine.
“I CAN SAY WE DON’T HAVE A GROWING CITY”
* After the evaluation conducted in 6 provinces last week, I said that the number of patients decreased between 30 and 70 percent.
* This week, again, I can say that the decline continues in all our provinces, although it remains stable in some, but we do not have a rising province, I say for six provinces.
“IT’S ON THE PANDEMI HOSPITAL AGENDA”
* It was used as a hospital until 2005 with respect to the Heybeliada hospital with respect to the Senatorium. After this year, use as a hospital, as you know, the need to send tuberculosis patients has disappeared.
* These buildings have not been used since 2005. Then it is not available. During this period, it emerged for the pandemic hospital.
“NO NEED FOR AN ADDITIONAL PANDEMIC HOSPITAL IN ISTANBUL”
* We opened two pandemic hospitals with 1008 beds in Istanbul. I can say that we do not need an additional pandemic hospital in Istanbul at the moment. The ownership of this land does not belong to us, it belongs to the national property. We know that it was assigned to our Directorate of Religious Affairs by the national real estate more than 2 years ago.
* We do not need a pandemic hospital at this time. We see that Diyanet does not make any investment and does not have any construction activity there. In this process, I would like to say that if Diyanet states that its willingness not to be evaluated in accordance with the assigned purpose, we can put the evaluation for health purposes on our agenda.
* We have new hospitals open. Hiring staff may be on our agenda, we are working on it. I would like to say that we hire staff from time to time during this period.
* Especially in this pandemic period, 83 million people must feel compelled to comply with the measures. No one has the right to remain on the sidelines in the fight against the pandemic.
* Particularly responsible people can be deputies, bureaucrats or administrators, I think they should be making the need for a more serious responsibility.
* I believe that the places that can increase the epidemic should not be created, and those that have responsibility at this point should be more examples for our citizens.
“13 TOTAL OPERATING IN TURKEY OUT”
* There is Faizer work done in Germany. You have reached the study of phase three. Phase three studies were also started in Turkey.
* Preclinical work is done, successful results were obtained here, as you know, our 10 universities in Turkey for phase 3 was started by our Ministry to allow this operation.
* Another job, the Oxford job. She stopped in reaction to it. In another study, we were asked to participate in the phase three study whose vaccine-related file was considered sufficient by our Scientific Committee on vaccines in China, we gave permission as a ministry, and the phase three study began in 10 centers under the responsibility of Hacettepe University.
* Since Phase 1 and Phase 2 human studies have been conducted for the general human population, we want to know the effect of these vaccines on our people, because we want to act accordingly.
* Another vaccine is made in Russia. We were applied for phase 3 regarding this vaccine. We saw that the file was sufficient and that phase one phase two studies were carried out, which we call preclinical. The Scientific Committee for Vaccines will make its evaluation in the coming days. We could probably let the vaccine in Russia run phase three.
* There are a total of 13 vaccine trials in Turkey. Phase one has reached your job. A phase study can begin in the next few weeks. I think the vaccine will appear in April-May-June 2021.
