In libeyköy, on August 13, 2020, the investigation against suspects Emre Etyemez and his wife Gülüzar Etyemez and his sister-in-law Buse K. In the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Conciliation Prosecutor’s Office, no consensus was reached between the parties.
Three suspects sought punishment
The prosecutor’s office then prepared a formal indictment against three suspects. The indictment stated that the suspects committed the aforementioned crimes in unity of spirit and action and that the suspect Emre Etyemez struck the author on the arm. The suspect Emre Etyemez was asked to be sentenced from 1 year, 5 months to 8 years for the crimes of “Simple injury”, “Insult”, “Threat”, “Property damage”. For the other suspects, Gülüzar Etyemez and Buse K., for the charges of “simple injury”, “insult”, “threat”, prison of 1 year, 1 month to 5 years was claimed. The indictment against the suspects was sent to the 18th First Instance Criminal Court in Istanbul. If the accusation is accepted, the suspects will appear before the judge in the next few days. Moreover, it was decided not to prosecute the investigation carried out on the charge of “insult” against the complainant Sena Koçak Genç, whom the suspects claimed to have insulted.

The suspect, Emre Etyemez, stated in police questioning that his wife had just given birth and that they left the hospital and did not accept the accusation of insults and injuries. The suspect Emre Etyemez also stated that he regretted the incident and argued that the complainant, Sena Koçak Genç, stepped on her husband and tried to kick him. Suspect Emre Etyemez said: “I also climbed on the hood of this person’s vehicle in a moment of anger. I jumped up and smashed the hood of the vehicle. I then hit the windshield of this person’s vehicle with my fists and broke the glass of the vehicle.” . The images of Sena Koçak Genç recorded on her mobile phone at the time of the incident were shared by many people on social media and provoked reactions.
