The candidate for the Istanbul provincial presidency of the AK Party has been announced.
AK Party Vice Chairman and Istanbul MP Erkan Kandemir made a statement on the matter on Twitter.
Kandemir shared: “At the 7th Ordinary Congress of the Istanbul Provincial Presidency that we will hold on Wednesday, February 24, Osman Nuri Kabaktepe has been determined as our candidate with the approval of our president, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
The Istanbul Provincial Chairman of the AK Party, Bayram Şenocak, announced that he would not be a candidate at the 7th Ordinary Provincial Congress.
WHO IS OSMAN NURI KABAKTEPE?
Osman Nuri Kabaktepe was born on December 1, 1970 in the Fatsa district of Ordu. After graduating from Fatsa Imam Hatip High School, he graduated from Uludağ University’s Faculty of Theology. He completed his master’s degree in the same department.
He held various positions in the Welfare Party and the Virtue Party. He was the founding chairman of the Istanbul Saadet Party and served as a member of the party’s General Administrative Council. In the 2004 local elections, Fatsa del SP was nominated for mayor.
Felicity Party Youth Wing The former general presidency also incorporates Kabaktepe, a member of the supervisory board of the Science Circulation Society, and the Turkish Youth Foundation (TUGV), a strong member of the advisory board, the Association of the Cihannüma Cooperation and Solidarity Platform holds the position of vice-president. In 2016, he was elected to the board of the Maarif Foundation. Kabaktepe is married with two children.
