The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) announced that new measures were taken within the scope of the measures for the coronavirus outbreak. Consequently, the opening of ISMEK courses was postponed to a later date. The cultural centers, the museums, as well as the sports facilities and the theaters of the IMM were closed.

Despite all the measures we have taken to protect our employees and citizens since February, when the first official case has not yet entered our country, to this day, the Kovit-19 tests of our approximately 2,000 employees of IMM and its affiliated partners are positive.
Additionally, our 1,322 staff are also under quarantine.
The statement included the following details on measures against the coronavirus:
In this context, as IMM, the recommendations made by the Scientific Advisory Council of the IMM to prevent the spread of contamination both in society and among employees and to avoid any interruption of service have been carefully examined and the following decisions have been taken :
1) The opening of ISMEK courses, whose registration period continues and face-to-face education is expected to begin soon, has been postponed to a later date. Online courses will continue in certain areas.
2) Scientific data indicates that sports halls and swimming pools are areas where pollution spreads rapidly. On this occasion, it was decided to close the facilities owned by IMM and operated by our subsidiary Spor AS.
3) The Cultural Centers will remain closed.
4) It was decided to perform performing arts online in the inner room.
5) It was decided to close all museums belonging to IMM that are not included in the open air.
Parallel to the additional steps that our government must take in the fight against the epidemic, the dimensions of the closure will be further expanded. In this context, all other procedures of the municipality that must continue will continue with their routine activities.
