US Chief of Staff Mark Milley reportedly held a secret video meeting with top generals and news anchors last weekend.
In the news that Axios had two sources familiar with the meeting, it was noted that Chief of Staff Milley responded to speculation that there would be a military intervention in the country’s presidential elections.
Milley said the military is completely apolitical and is not authorized to remove any president from the White House. According to the news, Chief of Staff Milley said: “The United States military will play no role in the riots, it is not our duty to remove Trump from the White House.
Milley also stated that it is possible to see National Guard troops around, and this depends on the request of state governors.
It was indicated in the report that two more four-star generals attended the meeting in addition to Milley. These names were allegedly Cyber Forces Commander Paul Nakasone and National Guard Chief Daniel Hokanson.
The presenters who attended the meeting were claimed to be ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, NBC’s Lester Holt, CNN’s Jim Sciutto and Fox’s Martha MacCallum.
Joe Biden recently told Trevor Noah of the Daily Show that he was confident that if Trump refused to leave the White House, the military would accompany him.
