In Kırıkkale, 4 people allegedly poisoned by drinking fake alcohol were taken to the Yüksek İhtisas hospital and 3 people to the medical school hospital. 7 people who had been treated in the hospital for 2 days lost their lives despite all the interventions.
According to the İHA news, while the Kırıkkale General Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the incident, it was announced that 3 suspects have been arrested so far.
1 PERSON LOSES LIFE IN IZMIR
In Izmir, 18 people from the Konak, Karabağlar, Gaziemir and Bayraklı districts have reportedly suffered vision loss and nausea at different times after consuming fake alcohol.
According to the AA report, 18 people allegedly poisoned by fake alcohol were hospitalized, 10 people were arrested.
6 of the 18 people who were evaluated as intoxicated by methyl alcohol were found to be in intensive care and in danger of death.
According to the DHA report, one of 18 people who fell ill from fake alcohol and were taken to the hospital died.
As part of the investigation of the incident, an operation was carried out in 5 workplaces, 1 warehouse and 1 residence, 10 suspects were arrested. Based on the first information obtained from the patients’ relatives, it was determined that the fake drink was purchased from a spice shop in Konak.
It was revealed that the business owner and some of his employees were among those arrested. It was reported that last month 585 liters of alcohol were seized at the workplace where operations were carried out 4 times for the same reason above.
