The most important item on the cabinet meeting agenda was the fight against the corona virus. The crisis in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean was also discussed at the meeting.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the following in his statement after the cabinet meeting:
* Today we held the 40th meeting of our Cabinet in the Presidential Government system. We are preparing the roadmap for the next period. The first item on our agenda was the coronavirus epidemic.
* The epidemic continues to threaten the world with our country. It seems that nowhere in the world has survived this epidemic. There are countries where the death toll exceeds a thousand. Some of the European countries are dealing with the second wave of the epidemic. Our country is in a better moment thanks to the measures we have taken.
NO STANDING PASSENGERS WILL BE TAKEN IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
* Cafes and restaurants will be controlled much more strictly in terms of compliance with the rules.
* It will not be allowed to carry standing passengers in public transport. Capacity may be limited in risky provinces. Flexible working will be widely practiced.
* Fines will be charged, especially the use of masks.
“THE REAL BUSINESS IS ENDING WITH OUR CITIZENS”
* Nightly intensive care statistics of cases and deaths are also published. Coronavirus is a disease that has not yet been fully resolved, so an effective treatment has not been found.

* From medicines to disinfectants, we have produced and put into use all the necessary tools to combat the epidemic as a national production.
“WE HAVE MADE MANY PROGRAMS”
* We had the opportunity to once again test the robustness of the overall health insurance system and our health infrastructure, which everyone envied. Under the shield of social protection, we have implemented many programs to support our citizens with low income and employment.
* We transferred the 2 thousand 76 million lire collected in the We Are Enough campaign to our citizens with payments of one thousand lire per household through the social assistance and solidarity incentive fund.
* We encourage our employers who switch to normal working conditions to continue their activities by supporting them in insurance premiums above the minimum wage for up to 3 months.
* Although we experienced a contraction as expected in the second quarter of the year, it is a fact that we are in a better situation than many states in the world, including developed countries.
* All data indicates that we will experience a strong recovery in the third quarter. We closed our August exports with a figure higher than the same month last year.
EXPLANATION ABOUT THE SCHOOLS
* Since the day the epidemic began, we have maintained our distance education system in the best way at the primary, secondary and higher education levels.
* In the new period, we will continue education with a system where we will carry out both face-to-face education and distance education, taking into account the conditions of the epidemic.
* In accordance with the preference of families, we open our schools to education, beginning with our 1st grade preschool and elementary school students. This practice may differ in our cities depending on the course of the epidemic.

* The natural gas reserve that we discovered in the Black Sea has become the symbol of the realization of our hopes for the future.
* The Sakarya oil field is the second most important resource discovered in the world. Hopefully, we will further increase this joy with some good news in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
* We are entering a period where we must work more together to achieve the 2023 goals.
* The strongest political, economic barriers removed by Turkey against the military are increasing.
* The international media, which broadcast live 24 hours a day from our country during the Gezi events, ignored the social protests that experienced much worse scenarios in Europe and the United States.
* When the PKK killed civilians and tried to invade neighborhoods, it sided with the terrorists, not ours.
“WE REACHED MANY COUNTRIES WITH ACCOUNTS IN THE REGION”
