The incident took place in the Selçuklu Yeni Istanbul Caddesi Piri Reis Park district on the night of February 5. An argument broke out between the couple Ayşe Dırla and Özgür Duran, who came and settled in Konya from Antalya, in the house where they lived together. Ayşe Dırla left the house and came to the park. Özgür Duran, who followed him to the park, allegedly started beating his lover. Kadir Şeker, who happened to be in the park, also wanted to intervene. In the fight that broke out, the knife in Şeker’s hand struck Duran’s heart. As Özgür Duran passed away, Kadir Şeker, who was preparing for the university entrance examination to study at the medical school, was detained. Şeker, who was sent to court, was arrested by the court where he was taken for “deliberate murder”.
PENALTY UP TO 19 YEARS
At the end of the investigation, Kadir Şeker was charged with “deliberate manslaughter”. In the indictment it was requested that the trial be carried out with a demand for life imprisonment, and that the penalty imposed is 12 to 18 years with reduction of provocation. In addition, he was asked to be sentenced from 6 months to 1 year within the scope of “crimes and punishments related to knives and other prohibited tools.”
