ALİYEV ANNOUNCES THAT 13 PEOPLES HAVE BEEN SAVED

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated on his Twitter account that 4 villages in Gubadli, 5 villages in Jabrayil, 2 villages in Zangilan and 2 villages in Khojavend were rescued from the occupation.

In his statement, Aliyev said: “The victorious Azerbaijani army was rescued from the villages of Dolanar, Bünyadlı in the Hocavend region, Mountain Tumas, Nüsüs, Halefli, Minbaşılı, Veyselli in the Cebrayıl region, Venedli, Mirzehasanli villages in the villages. Zengilán and Zubganlı region, Zengilan region and Gurqilan Kilan villages and Alaqilan Kilalan region. Long live the Azerbaijani army, Karabakh is Azerbaijan ”.

THE CAUSE OF THE TENSION IS THE ARMENIAN OCCUPATION

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Karabakh became a zone of tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The growing tension has been going on for more than 20 years when the Karabakh Armenians demanded that Karabakh move from Soviet Azerbaijan to Soviet Armenia.

Nagorno-Karabakh is recognized as part of Azerbaijan by the United Nations (UN) and the international community. However, Nagorno-Karabakh and its surroundings, which make up about 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory, have been under Armenian occupation since the early 1990s.

The Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh was declared in the region in 1991. However, no country, including Armenia, recognized this place internationally.

The tension in the region is closely followed by the international public due to the corridor of gas and oil pipelines in the region.
