The incident took place on December 24, 2013 in the Yeşiloba district of the Seyhan district. Zeynep Söğüt and Savaş Sanatman, a mother of 2 who divorced her husband, started living together. Söğüt, who was allegedly forced into a relationship with other men in exchange for money by the taxi driver, told Savaş Sanatman when she realized that she was pregnant by one of the people she was with. Apparently, there was a debate between Söğüt and Sanatman, who said that she did not want to take the child. Meanwhile, Ersin Yalçınkaya, a relative of Sanatman, came home as a guest. Artman went to the market before breakfast to buy bread. After a while, Sanatman asked what happened when he saw Yalçınkaya’s arms and face covered in blood. Yalçınkaya said: “I killed Zeynep. He hurt my arms and face with his nails during the fight. If you hear this, I will kill you too, don’t be quiet and help me,” he said. So, two suspects went to Nazlı Tuğulucan, her relative who was a florist in the city.

Yalçınkaya then asked Sanatman and Tuğulucan to go to the road, to inform them that he would be coming from behind, if there was a police turn or a roadblock. Ersin Yalçınkaya, one of the suspects who went to the Bürücek district of the Pozantı district, threw the suitcase in which Zeynep’s body was found. Ersin Yalçınkaya, who returned to the area a few hours later, changed the location of the suitcase and threw it somewhere else.

Changed 3 cities out of fear
Ersin Yalçınkaya, who threatened Savaş Sanatman and Nazlı Tuğulucan after the incident, constantly demanded money from these people. Yalçınkaya asked Tuğulucan about the flower shop that her husband operated. After receiving threats, Tuğulucan moved her home first to Denizli, then to Antalya and finally to Erzurum.
THE FILE IS RE-OPENED
The file of Zeynep Söğüt, whose results were not obtained, was reopened 7 years later, considering that he was a victim of murder. Teams from the Homicide Office questioned Savaş Sanatman, the last person Söğüt met. When teams found Savaş Sanatman’s statements contradictory, they questioned the license plate of the taxi used in 2013 from the License Plate Tracking System (PTS). The vehicle was determined to have left the Tekir toll booth on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) highway 2 days before Söğüt’s report was made. The teams changed the research in this direction. On questioning, Sanatman confessed to the incident. Yalçınkaya and Nazlı Tuğulucan were also arrested and detained according to Savaş Sanatman’s statement.
The teams also searched the Pozantı district, Bürücek district, where Söğüt’s body was dumped. The suitcase with the young woman’s body was found during a search with specially trained dogs. Several bone fragments were found on examination of the suitcase.
